CROWNS (CAPS)
WHAT IS A CROWN?
A crown is one of the most common permanent restorations that is used to replace large volumes of tooth loss that result from decay, trauma, erosion, or congenital defects. Crowns wrap around the entire tooth and may be fabricated from various materials ranging from ceramic to gold or a combination of porcelain and metal depending on the situation.
ARE YOU A GOOD CROWN CANDIDATE?
Many of our patients at Nuance have existing crowns that are in need of replacement due to recurrent decay, reduced functionality, fracture, or increased aesthetic demand. In some cases, crowns will be indicated to correct rotated teeth when the patient does not want to undergo orthodontics (braces) to correct the malpositioned dentition. A thorough consultation with a board-certified Prosthodontist will ensure that you are getting the correct treatment with the appropriate materials.
WHAT MAKES A NUANCE CROWN DIFFERENT?
Crowns offer exceptional strength and aesthetics and provide worn out, discolored and/or painful teeth with a second life. Our patients appreciate the exquisite attention to detail that we put into our crowns. The shape of the crown preparation and location of the margin is absolutely critical to achieving a biologically sound and aesthetic final result. Dr. Cone has developed and published many unique techniques and special treatment protocols for crowns that he teaches to other dentists every year around the world. The results speak for themselves.
